A wall-mounted eye wash with a moulded yellow ABS bowl of 550 mm and a curved arm that carries the bowl clear of the wall. The whole wetted exterior — bowl, arm, flange — is ABS, so acid and alkali splash, salt air and wash-down chemicals do not start the pitting that eventually makes a stainless bowl hard to clean.
The twin heads have green bodies with yellow caps, and the green PUSH plate is bracketed beside the bowl with a white pictogram. Nothing stands on the floor; the unit hangs on a round wall flange and drains straight down.
Acid and alkali resistance – moulded plastic does not rust, pit or stain from splash that would mark stainless.
No corrosion creep – no welds or crevices to start corrosion behind the rim, which is where steel bowls usually fail first.
Warm to the face – plastic does not feel as cold as steel against skin in a cold plant.
Colour is moulded in – the yellow is through the material, so it does not flake off like paint.
A wide bowl catches the water that runs off the face and off the arms during a full flush.
More clearance around the spray heads means the user can get the eyes close without the face touching the rim.
Large surface area also makes the bowl easier to wipe clean between shifts.
550 mm ABS bowl – deep moulded bowl with rolled edge, centre drain.
Curved ABS arm – sweeps the bowl forward and away from the wall.
Round ABS wall flange – bolt to wall; covers the pipe entry.
Twin spray heads – green bodies, yellow protective caps.
Green PUSH plate – white pictogram and lettering, on a bracket beside the bowl.

Set the flange height so the spray heads sit at the eye level of the shortest regular user.
Position the unit over a tray, channel or floor drain — the drain outlet drops straight down behind the flange.
Anchor the flange; the wall must take the load of someone leaning into the bowl.
Connect supply and drain, fit an isolation valve upstream and flush the line before use.
Set the flow and confirm both heads deliver an even, soft stream that stays inside the bowl.
Check the plate latches open, closes cleanly, and the sign is visible from the approach.
Weekly: activate the unit, run both heads, wipe the bowl and caps.
Monthly: check the flange fixings and the drain for blockage.
Quarterly: clean the heads and strainer; check the bowl for crazing or cracks, especially around the drain boss.
Annually: re-measure the flow; replace any head cap that has gone hard or split.
The unit is designed to meet ANSI Z358.1-2014 eyewash requirements for flow, hands-free operation and bowl coverage. It must sit within about ten seconds of the hazard, on the same level, with tepid water and a clear approach, and it must be activated weekly — those are site responsibilities. Where the body as well as the eyes may be exposed, a drench shower is required in addition.
Laboratories and prep rooms, plating and pickling lines, battery charging areas, chemical stores, water treatment rooms, food and beverage wash-down areas, and coastal sites where stainless is attacked by salt air.
Order by model RYEW-ABS-550. Please state mounting height, inlet size and drain arrangement. Stainless bowl versions, bench-mounted units on a base plate, and combination shower and eyewash stations are also available.
