A 30 litre eye wash on a carbon steel frame that uses two uprights rather than one central spine. The tank and green cover sit at eye height on the cross member, and an open yellow crate on the deck below catches what comes off the face. Castors all round, no water line, no drain, no power.
The frame is the difference on this model. A twin-post steel frame takes the tank weight on two points and resists twisting when someone leans into the nozzles, so the head height does not drift after a season of use.
Rigid under load – two uprights share the load; a single spine flexes when a person leans in, and the nozzles move with it.
Height holds – the cross member keeps the tank square instead of letting it tilt as the cart is wheeled over kerbs.
Serviceable – welded steel can be re-painted or repaired; the yellow finish is a single colour code across frame, base and crate.
Stable footprint – the wider base between the uprights sits flat with the castors braked, even on slightly uneven concrete.
See the water level at a glance – no lid to lift, so a full crate is obvious during a walk-round.
Quick to empty and rinse – lift the crate off the deck, tip it out, hose it and put it back.
Nothing to jam – no hinge or lid latch to corrode or seize.
Trade-off – an open crate leaves collected water visible; where that is not acceptable, a lidded container version is available.
At a nominal 11.4 L/min eyewash flow, 30 L gives roughly two and a half minutes of flushing.
That is a first-response duration, not the fifteen-minute facility the standard describes; measure the real figure and mark it on the cart.
A full tank is light enough to wheel between bays with one hand on the frame.
30 L yellow HDPE tank – moulded body with fill cap and carry handle.
Green cover – eye pictogram and two-step drawing, lifts to start the flow.
Twin nozzles – set under the cover at eye height.
Carbon steel twin-post frame – yellow painted, cross member for the tank, castors all round.
Open yellow crate – sits on the deck under the nozzles, lifts off for emptying.

Fill the tank with clean tepid water through the top cap and close it firmly.
Wheel the cart to the hazard, on level ground, brake the castors.
Lift the green cover and check both nozzles run clear.
Time how long the tank lasts and mark the figure on the frame.
Weekly: replace the water, run the unit briefly, wipe the nozzles and cover, empty and rinse the crate.
After use: empty the crate, refill the tank, close the cover, return the cart to position.
Weekly water change is the main task; standing water is where contamination starts.
Monthly: check the frame welds and paint for chips, the nozzles, the cap seal and the castors.
Quarterly: sanitise and rinse the tank and crate; touch up any chip on the steel frame before it rusts.
Annually: check the twin uprights for straightness and the base for corrosion at the welds.
ANSI Z358.1 calls for a fifteen-minute flush. A 30 L gravity cart delivers a fraction of that at eyewash flow, so it is a first-response unit that must lead to a plumbed station — measure and mark the duration, change the water weekly, keep it tepid where the standard requires it, and keep the cart within about ten seconds of the hazard with a clear approach. Collected runoff should be disposed of under the site's chemical rules.
Workshops and maintenance bays, vehicle and container areas, battery and paint points, warehouse aisles, and sites that prefer a steel frame for heavy daily use.
