A 12 litre eye wash carried on the shoulder, finished in white: twin green nozzles on a flexible neck, an orange pull ring at the top to start the flow, and a body moulded with the capacity marking. The strap runs over a light-coloured frame, so the whole unit reads as one object rather than a bottle on a harness.
White is the reason this version exists. In a clean area, a coloured tank tells you nothing about its condition until it is filthy; a white one shows a mark the first time it happens.
Condition is visible – dust, product residue and water staining show up straight away, so the unit is cleaned before it becomes a contamination risk.
Fits clean areas – white matches gowning, wall panels and equipment in laboratories, pharmaceutical and food rooms where a brightly coloured bottle would look out of place.
No dye transfer – a white moulding cannot bleed colour onto hands, gloves or surfaces it is set down on.
Audit friendly – an inspector can see at a glance that the unit is clean and full, without opening it.
Both eyes at once – two streams cover both eyes in one position, which matters if the casualty is alone or unsteady.
Capped heads – green caps keep dust out between tests.
Fixed spacing – the pair is set to a face width, so the user does not have to aim.
Trade-off – two orifices to keep clear; the weekly check is still only seconds, but it is two heads not one.
12 L at a nominal 11.4 L/min eyewash flow gives roughly one minute of flushing.
That is a first-aid bridge, not a fifteen-minute station: it buys the walk to a plumbed unit.
Refilling is quick, so a second unit can be carried where exposure justifies it.
12 L white HDPE body – moulded tank with capacity marking.
Twin green nozzles – on a flexible neck, angled for eye-level flushing.
Orange pull ring – starts the flow.
Shoulder strap and frame – light coloured, hung from the top of the body.
Screw fill cap – top filling and weekly water change.

Fill with clean tepid water through the top cap and close it firmly.
Hang the unit on the shoulder, or on a rail or harness when working at height.
Pull the orange ring, bring the twin nozzles to the eyes and flush.
After flushing, go to the nearest fixed station and continue for the full fifteen minutes.
Weekly: replace the water, run the unit briefly, wipe the nozzles and body, check the strap.
Record the refill date so the water is never older than a week.
Weekly water change is the main task; put carried units on the same round as fixed stations.
Monthly: check the strap stitching, the pull ring and the nozzle caps.
Quarterly: sanitise and rinse the body; check for staining or discolouration that will not clean off.
Annually: replace the strap if the webbing has stiffened, and the body if the neck has cracked.
This is a portable first-aid eye wash, not a fixed station: twelve litres cannot deliver the fifteen-minute flush ANSI Z358.1 describes. It is used to start flushing at the point of exposure and to bridge the walk to a plumbed unit — a fixed station must still be within about ten seconds of the hazard. Water must be changed weekly, kept tepid where the standard requires it, and the unit kept filled and within reach rather than stored in a cupboard.
Clean rooms and laboratories, pharmaceutical and cosmetics areas, food handling and packing rooms, hospital and clinic service areas, and any site where a white unit matches the room and shows contamination early.
