RY-LF-03 Three Outlet Laboratory Bench Faucet with Green Service Knobs and Gooseneck Spout

Product Overview

The RY-LF-03 is a deck-mounted laboratory bench faucet with three outlets on one body and green indexed knobs: a tall U-bend gooseneck at the centre and two low-level outlets on swing arms, each with its own knob and serrated hose nozzle. The white moulded polymer body passes through a single bench cut-out on a round flange. The green knobs are the point of this variant — in a bench where several water qualities are available, handle colour is the fastest way for a user to tell one outlet from another without reading a label under the sink.

Knob Colour as a Service Code — and Its Limits

Colour coding works only when the whole site uses the same convention, and there is no single universal standard for it. Some laboratories use green for demineralised or RO water, blue for cold potable water and red for hot or tempered water; others reverse the meanings or reserve green for a process service. A green handle that means "DI water" in one building and "tempered water" in the next is worse than no colour at all, because it invites a confident mistake.

So the colour needs to be written down before the faucets are ordered: agree the key, put it on the bench elevation drawing, and label the outlets to match. Where the site already has a key, specify this variant to fit it rather than inventing a new one. Where the site has no key, this faucet is the occasion to create one, and the drawing is the document that makes it survive staff changes.

The hydraulic and mechanical points are the same as on any multi-outlet bench body, and they do not go away because the handles are a different colour. Three outlets draw from one supply: two open together and the streams drop, three open together and the tall gooseneck — the outlet that needs the most head — is the weakest. The swing arms are the moving parts and their joints are where a lab faucet weeps first. And three nozzles still do not make an eyewash: no controlled twin stream at eye height, no hands-free hold, so a dedicated flushing point is still required within ten seconds of the bench.

Key Features

  • Three outlets on one deck-mounted body: tall U-bend gooseneck plus two low-level swing outlets.

  • Green indexed knobs, one per outlet, for colour-coded identification of the service each outlet carries.

  • Knob colour matched across the range, so a bench can be built with one consistent visual code.

  • Serrated hose nozzles on all three outlets, removable when an open outlet is required.

  • White moulded polymer body, smooth finish, resistant to dilute acids and easy to wipe down.

  • Single-hole deck mounting on a round flange that covers the cut-out and spreads load.

  • Tall gooseneck clears graduated cylinders and tall vessels at the centre outlet.

  • Low outlets close to the sink floor reduce splash when filling shallow trays.

  • Knobs, valve seats and nozzles are the only wearing parts and all are replaceable without removing the body.

Installation and Commissioning

  1. Agree the colour key with the site before fixing: which service each green knob identifies, and what colour the other services take.

  2. Check the bench cut-out and flange seating; the flange must sit flat on the bench, not on a chamfer.

  3. Confirm the swing arms clear the splashback and the sink edges through their full travel before final tightening.

  4. Connect the supply and flush with all three outlets open and the nozzles removed so debris cannot lodge in the seats.

  5. Test each outlet separately, then two together, and record the drop in stream height at the gooseneck.

  6. Label each outlet to match the colour key and hand the key to the site as part of the commissioning file.

Operation and Maintenance

Weekly: operate all three knobs through their full travel and check for weeping at the swing joints and the deck flange.

Monthly: remove the nozzles and clear scale; wipe the body and check the swing arms still move without stiffness.

Quarterly: inspect the valve seats, check the spout and arms for crazing at the bends, and confirm the knob colour and outlet labels still agree with the key.

Annually: replace any seat that needs force to shut off, and check the supply shank and bench underside for corrosion or seepage.

Standards and Compliance

This is a laboratory water fitting and is not an emergency eyewash or shower. It does not meet ANSI Z358.1-2014, and multiple outlets do not substitute for a compliant flushing point. Colour-coded handles are a local convention, not a regulated marking: the site's written key, not the colour alone, is what establishes which service an outlet carries, and the key must be part of the bench documentation. The polymer body must be checked against the chemicals handled at the bench, and where tempered water is supplied the outlet temperature must be limited to protect users from scalding.

Applications

Laboratories that already operate a colour code for water services, teaching and research benches with several water qualities at one sink, preparation and washing areas, and QC benches where a single deck position has to serve a tall spout and two hose outlets.

Ordering

State the model RY-LF-03, the inlet connection size, which service each outlet carries, the required arm reach if it differs from standard, and the body material where the bench handles solvents that attack the standard polymer. Confirm the bench cut-out diameter and the available flow at the bench, since three outlets drawing together need more capacity than a single tap. Specify other knob colours as separate items if the site key requires them, and specify a compliant eyewash separately if the bench needs one.
