One large nozzle instead of two: a single wide stream that the user moves from eye to eye, set in a shallow polished stainless bowl on a rectangular base plate. The plate bolts to a bench end, a shelf or a wall bracket, and the bowl sits low enough that the face can come close without hitting the rim.
The push plate carries a yellow sign with a red pictogram and black PUSH lettering. Against polished steel and grey equipment, yellow is hard to miss — which is the whole point of the sign.
One orifice to keep clear – weekly checks take seconds: look, wipe, done. There is no second head to balance or to clog unnoticed.
One flow to set – no matching of two streams; the regulator and strainer are sized for a single outlet.
Fewer parts in stock – one head, one cap, one valve; the spare parts list stays short across a plant.
Wide, soft stream – a large aperture gives volume at low velocity, which is what the eyes tolerate.
Trade-off stated – the user must move the stream from eye to eye; twin heads cover both at once. Where the casualty may be alone and unsteady, twins are usually the better choice.
Yellow plate, red pictogram and black lettering give contrast against stainless and grey plant.
The plate is mounted on a bracket off the bowl, in the line of sight of someone walking up.
Pressing the plate starts the flow and latches it open; pressing back closes it.
Single large nozzle – yellow and green protective cap.
Shallow polished stainless bowl – rolled rim, centre drain.
Short stainless pedestal – bowl carried low, close to the plate.
Rectangular stainless base plate – bolt-down, four fixings.
Yellow PUSH plate – red pictogram, black lettering, stainless frame.

Bolt the base plate to a bench end, shelf or wall bracket at the height that puts the nozzle at eye level for the regular users.
Check the plate is flat and fully seated — a plate that rocks will loosen its fixings.
Connect the supply, fit an isolation valve upstream and flush the line before use.
Set the flow: the stream should be wide and soft, and stay inside the bowl.
Confirm the plate latches open and closes cleanly, and that the yellow sign faces the approach.
Check the bowl drains freely and leaves no standing water.
Weekly: activate, check the single nozzle runs clear, wipe the cap and bowl.
Monthly: check plate fixings, latch and drain.
Quarterly: clean the nozzle and strainer; check the sign for fading.
Annually: measure the flow, and re-check after any change to the water system.
Designed to meet ANSI Z358.1-2014 eyewash requirements for flow, hands-free operation and bowl coverage. Siting within about ten seconds of the hazard, tepid water, weekly activation and approach signage remain site responsibilities. A single-nozzle unit relies on the user moving the stream between eyes; where that is a concern, specify a twin-head model. An eye wash does not replace a drench shower where the body may also be exposed.
Laboratory benches, workshop bench ends, plant rooms, battery bays, paint mixing areas and any position where a bench or shelf already exists and a single stream is accepted.
Order by model RYEW-SS-S1. Please state mounting height, inlet size and whether a bench plate or a wall bracket is required. Twin-head versions with green PUSH plates, ABS bowl versions and vertical floor-standing foot-pedal eye washes are also available.
