Product Overview

A stainless steel combination station built around the simplest reliable control there is: a push plate at the basin. Press it and the eyewash valve latches open, leaving both hands free to hold the eyelids apart; push the plate back and it closes. There is no pedal to reach for, no chain to adjust and nothing under the foot that can be obstructed by a dropped tool or a spill.

The twin nozzles sit in an open basin, each with its own cap, so both eyes are flushed at once and a blocked nozzle shows itself immediately. The overhead deluge shower runs on a pull cord with a triangular handle and a stay-open valve, the column stands on a bolted floor flange, and a green PUSH sign at the basin identifies the control.

Push Plate Activation

  • One press, valve latched open – the plate holds the valve open, so the flush continues while the user uses both hands on the eyelids. It is closed deliberately by pushing the plate back, not by letting go.

  • Nothing at floor level – no pedal plate or linkage to be blocked by debris, ice or a pallet; the floor around the station stays clear.

  • Fewest moving parts – the plate acts directly on the valve, which removes the chain, lever and anchor points that a pedal version needs to be checked and adjusted.

  • Reachable from the standing position – the plate sits at the front of the basin where the user is already leaning in, so activation and flushing happen in one movement.

Twin Nozzles, Open Basin

  • A stream for each eye – both eyes are covered at once without steering a single head from side to side.

  • Individual caps – each nozzle is capped separately, so dust, scale or a weak stream is visible nozzle by nozzle.

  • Trimmed at commissioning – flow can be balanced across the two nozzles so neither eye receives more than the other.

  • Open basin – nothing to lift before flushing; the trade-off is a weekly check of the nozzle caps, which takes seconds.

Key Features

  • Push plate eyewash control – latched open on press, closed by pushing back; no pedal or linkage.

  • Twin capped nozzles – two fixed-angle streams in an open stainless basin.

  • Overhead deluge shower – large bowl-shaped head, pull cord with triangular handle, stay-open valve.

  • Green PUSH sign – identifies the eyewash control at the basin.

  • Single inlet – one 1-1/4 inch supply feeds both functions; one isolation point for maintenance.

  • 304 stainless steel – column, basin and shower arm in polished stainless, resistant to chemical splash and washdown.

  • Bolted floor flange – fixed to a level floor; no platform or pit.

Operation

  1. Reach the station within 10 seconds and stand at the basin.

  2. Press the push plate; the valve latches open and both nozzles start.

  3. Hold the eyelids open with thumbs and forefingers and roll the eyes so the flow reaches under the lids.

  4. For body contamination, pull the triangular handle; the shower valve stays open until pushed back.

  5. Flush for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention; push the plate back and close the shower valve afterwards.

Installation and Commissioning

  • Position on a level, load-bearing floor on the same level as the hazard, within 10 seconds' travel, with clear standing space at the basin and under the shower head.

  • Anchor through the floor flange and check the column is plumb before final tightening.

  • Connect the single supply, flush the line first, then pressure test at 0.2 – 0.4 MPa.

  • Operate the push plate: confirm the valve latches open on a single press and closes fully when pushed back, with no drip at the nozzles.

  • Trim the two nozzles until the streams are even and stay inside the basin.

  • Confirm the shower stays open when the cord is released, fix the PUSH sign, record flow rates and the commissioning date.

Maintenance

  • Weekly: press the plate and confirm the eyewash starts and latches; check both caps and clear any dust.

  • Monthly: clean both nozzles and the shower head face; check the plate travel and the valve for dripping.

  • Quarterly: inspect the column, flange bolts and inlet joint for leaks or corrosion; confirm the signs are legible.

  • Annually: measure eyewash and shower flow, replace worn seals, caps or the plate spring if the latch has weakened, and re-tag the unit.

Standards and Compliance

The station is designed to the performance requirements of ANSI Z358.1-2014 and EN 15154: hands-free eyewash activation, a stay-open shower valve, controlled low-pressure eyewash flow and full-body shower coverage. The latched push plate satisfies the hands-free requirement because the flush continues without the user holding it on; if the latch is allowed to weaken, the unit no longer meets that requirement and must be repaired. Installation on the same level as the hazard, within 10 seconds' travel, with heads at the heights set by the standard, must be verified at commissioning.

Applications

Chemical and pharmaceutical plants, laboratories, plating and surface treatment, workshops with dust or particulate exposure, food processing, and any area where the floor around the station must stay clear of obstructions.

Ordering

Order by model RYFHS032. Please state supply pressure and water quality, floor type, whether a thermostatic mixing valve is required, and the required basin height. Foot-pedal and single-nozzle versions of the same column are available where a push plate or twin open nozzles do not suit the site standard.
