The RY-LF-01 is a bench-mounted laboratory faucet with a single outlet on a gooseneck spout and a blue indexed knob. The body is white moulded polymer with a round deck flange, and the spout turns down to a serrated nozzle that takes a flexible hose for washing glassware or filling a bench vessel. It is a general laboratory water fitting for benches, island sinks and preparation areas — it is a tap, not a safety device, and the two should never be confused on a services drawing.
This is the point where specifying goes wrong most often. A bench faucet of this type is not an eyewash and cannot be used as one. It has a single aerated or serrated outlet, it needs a hand on the knob to stay open, it delivers water at whatever temperature the supply is set to, and it has no way of holding both eyes open under a controlled twin stream. Mounting one beside a bench and calling it a flushing point does not satisfy ANSI Z358.1, and an inspector will treat it as a missing eyewash rather than a partial one.
What the faucet does need to be judged on is fit: the gooseneck height against the bench depth and any splashback, the reach of the spout over the sink centre, whether the deck already has a single-hole cut-out of the right size, and whether the polymer body is compatible with the water and the chemicals used at that bench. A white moulded body suits most general labs and resists dilute acids better than a coated brass body, but it is not the right choice where the bench sees solvents that attack the polymer or where mechanical abuse is routine.
Single outlet on a gooseneck spout, giving clearance under the outlet for tall vessels and graduated cylinders.
Blue indexed knob for clear identification against the white body and against a bench of mixed services.
White moulded polymer body with a smooth finish that wipes down and does not hold reagent residue.
Serrated nozzle under the outlet for pushing on a flexible hose; the hose can be removed for normal open-outlet use.
Round deck flange covering the mounting hole and spreading the load on a bench top.
Single-hole deck mounting, so the bench needs one cut-out rather than a drilled pair.
Compact footprint that leaves bench space usable in front of the sink.
Smooth internal waterway with no exposed thread in the wetted path, which keeps scale from anchoring.
Simple construction with few wearing parts: knob, valve seat and nozzle are the service items.

Check the bench cut-out against the shank and flange before assembly; a single round hole is required and the flange must sit flat, not on a chamfer.
Fit the shank through the deck with its sealing washer, and tighten from below so the flange is held down without distorting the bench surface.
Connect the supply, then flush the line with the outlet open and the nozzle removed so debris does not lodge in the valve seat.
Refit the nozzle and check the knob turns freely through its full travel and shuts off completely, with no weep at the spindle.
Position the spout over the sink centre and confirm the outlet clears the tallest vessel used at that bench.
Label the faucet with the service it carries, particularly where tempered and cold water are both available at the same bench.
Weekly: operate the knob through its full travel and check for weeping at the spindle and at the deck joint.
Monthly: remove the nozzle and clear scale or debris; wipe the body with a compatible cleaner and check the flange seating.
Quarterly: inspect the valve seat for wear and the spout for cracks at the bend, particularly where the faucet is used with hot water.
Annually: replace the seat if the knob has to be forced to shut off, and check the supply connection under the bench for corrosion.
This faucet is a laboratory water fitting and is not an emergency eyewash or shower; it does not meet ANSI Z358.1-2014 and must not be substituted for a compliant flushing point. Where the bench is in a laboratory covered by a safety audit, the eyewash requirement is met by a dedicated unit within ten seconds' reach, not by this tap. The polymer body must be checked for compatibility with the chemicals handled at the bench, and where the supply is tempered, the maximum water temperature at the outlet must be limited to protect users from scalding.
Laboratory benches and island sinks, preparation and washing areas, school and university teaching labs, QC benches, and clean utility areas where a single cold or tempered water outlet is required with hose capability.
State the model RY-LF-01, the inlet connection size, whether cold or tempered water is supplied, the required spout height if it differs from standard, and the body material where the bench handles solvents that attack the standard polymer. Confirm the bench cut-out diameter before delivery. If the bench also needs an emergency flushing point, specify a compliant eyewash separately — this faucet does not replace one.
