The Red ABS Coated Combination Emergency Eyewash & Drench Shower Station is a floor-mounted, dual-function safety unit engineered for the most aggressive industrial environments. Built on a heavy-gauge 304 stainless steel standpipe and finished with a high-visibility Safety Red ABS / epoxy resin anti-corrosive coating, the station delivers simultaneous full-body drenching and targeted eye/face flushing within one metre of the hazard.
Unlike conventional hand-operated units, this model combines a triangular pull-rod shower handle with a hands-free stainless steel foot treadle, so an injured worker can activate the eyewash with a single step while both hands remain free to hold the eyes open — the exact technique required by ANSI Z358.1-2014. The unit is supplied completely assembled, ready for connection to 1-1/4" NPT / G water and drainage lines.
High-Visibility Safety Red Coating — ABS / epoxy resin anti-corrosive finish resists strong acids, alkalis, salt spray and harsh chemical splash, and remains clearly identifiable in smoke, dust, steam or low-light conditions.
Overhead Drench Shower — Large-diameter 260 mm (10.2") deluge head with a triangular stainless steel pull-rod handle; a downward pull instantly releases a full-body conical water pattern with no lag.
Dual-Spray Eyewash Basin — 300 mm (11.8") bowl with twin aerated outlets and integrated bubble generators / flow-control filters that soften the stream and protect damaged eye tissue.
Yellow Flip-Top Dust Caps — One-piece hinged covers keep nozzles free of dust, debris and insects; the caps swing open automatically when the water is activated and can be flipped up for routine flushing.
Dual Activation for the Eyewash — A large yellow "PUSH" paddle for manual operation plus a slip-resistant foot pedal (treadle) linked by a stainless steel chain mechanism for completely hands-free start-up.
Standpipe & Base Flange — Thick-walled round floor mounting flange with pre-drilled expansion bolt holes provides high resistance to tipping and vibration.
Corrosion-Resistant Internals — Stainless steel valve stems, linkage and fasteners ensure reliable operation over years of exposure to wash-down and chemical atmospheres.
The eyewash valve is a lever-and-chain assembly: pressing the yellow paddle or stepping on the anti-slip foot treadle pulls the stainless steel chain, opens the ball valve and starts the twin sprays. Because the valve is held open by spring return, water stops automatically the moment the pedal or paddle is released — preventing water waste and floor flooding. This design is essential when a casualty is temporarily blinded, wearing gloves, or physically supporting an injured colleague.

Keep the route to the station clear; the unit should be reachable within 10 seconds (approx. 15 m / 55 ft) of the hazard, on the same level.
Full-body exposure: stand under the shower head, grasp the triangular pull rod and pull downward firmly. The deluge head delivers ≥ 75.7 L/min across the whole body.
Eye / face exposure: step on the foot pedal (or push the yellow paddle) to start the eyewash, then hold the eyelids open with both hands and place the eyes directly in the twin streams.
Flush continuously for a minimum of 15 minutes; remove contaminated clothing while flushing.
Release the pull rod, pedal or paddle to shut off the water — the spring-return valve closes automatically.
Seek immediate medical attention and retain the chemical SDS for the physician.
Mount the flange on a level, rigid floor able to carry the filled unit; secure with four expansion bolts and seal the base to prevent water ingress.
Connect the 1-1/4" NPT / G inlet to a potable, tepid water supply (16–38 °C recommended by ANSI Z358.1) and route the 1-1/4" drain to a safe discharge point.
Flush the supply piping before final connection to remove debris that could block the flow-control inserts.
Weekly: activate both functions for at least 3 minutes and confirm the flow pattern, dust caps open freely and the pedal linkage returns smoothly.
Annually: inspect the strainer, aerators and valve seats, descale the outlets and verify flow rates and coating integrity.
