RY-SAR-07 Lithium Battery Powered Long Tube Respirator for Three Persons

Product Overview

The RY-SAR-07 is a three-person electric long-tube respirator running on a rechargeable lithium battery pack, with no mains cable to the blower. The stainless steel housing carries a red and a green push button, a rocker switch, an inline fuse and a digital display showing battery capacity and voltage, and feeds three coiled corrugated hoses with quick-fit metal couplings, three full-face masks with yellow frames and three orange and black striped waist straps. A charger and the manual are included. It is used where a three-person team has to work inside one classified or contaminated volume from a single access point and there is no safe place to plug in — a large tank, a bund, a tank roof or a temporary works point.

Three Masks on One Battery: The Arithmetic Gets Unforgiving

Each of the three elements on this set removes margin, and here they are stacked: a battery, more masks and one shared blower.

The demand is three masks, the supply is one pack. Three masks drawing from one housing move more air than one or two, so the same pack that covers a single wearer for a shift covers three for a fraction of it. The runtime figure has to be quoted for three masks on the actual hose lengths, and even then it should be derated for cold weather and for pack age. On this configuration the battery is the limiting component, not the hose.

When the pack goes, three people are stranded. A cable can be re-routed; a flat pack cannot. Three wearers in the same volume lose protection in the same second, and bringing three out is a team rescue, not an escort. Before this set is chosen, the site has to say honestly whether it can bring three people out of that space quickly, with three hoses trailing behind them. If it cannot, two smaller sets are the safer answer.

The hose connections and the shares. The blower feeds three hoses; two outlets sit on the front face of the housing and the routing of the third is a build detail that should be confirmed on the drawing rather than assumed from a photograph. Whichever way the third is fed, the shares depend on hose length: the shortest run gets the most air, and with three wearers the one on the longest hose is the one who will not notice until they are working hard. Measure at the farthest mask with all three connected.

The display has to be watched by someone else. The reading covers all three wearers, so it must be recorded before entry and watched during the work — nobody inside can see it. That means a standby person at the blower whose only job is the set, the spare pack and the exit.

Charging is outside the rating. The housing is built for the zone; the charger and a pack on charge are not. Charge in a safe, ventilated, non-hazardous area with the supplied charger, never inside the zone, and take a dropped, swollen or wetted pack out of service rather than recharging it.

The constants hold: the blower moves ambient air rather than making it, so the intake must stand in clean air, upwind and outside the zone; and none of the three has an escape cylinder, so any interruption — a flat pack included — means all three leave at once.

Key Features

  • Rechargeable lithium battery pack, so no mains cable runs to the work position.

  • Digital display showing battery capacity and voltage, read at the blower before entry and watched during the shift.

  • Three coiled corrugated hoses with quick-fit metal couplings, fed from one blower housing.

  • Red and green push buttons, rocker switch and inline fuse on the front face.

  • Stainless steel housing with carry handle, resistant to wash-down and to most process atmospheres.

  • Three full-face masks with yellow frames, wide visors and exhalation valves; sizes per wearer.

  • Three orange and black striped waist straps with rings, carrying hose weight off the facepieces and staying visible in low light.

  • Charger and manual supplied; no fuel, no cylinder and no compressed air line required.

  • Suits a three-person team working from one access point rather than entering one at a time.

Deployment and Use

  1. Site the blower in clean air, upwind and outside the zone, with the intake clear of exhausts, vents and dust.

  2. Read the battery display with all three masks connected, record the reading on the permit, and fit a freshly charged pack.

  3. Lay the three hoses on separate supported routes with no shared crossing at the entry, and appoint one person to manage the bundle.

  4. Fit each mask to its own wearer and fit check all three before anyone enters; confirm airflow at the farthest mask with all three running.

  5. Keep a charged spare pack at the blower, and confirm the rescue resource on site can bring three wearers out before the first entry.

  6. Brief the evacuation signal and make it a rule that all three leave on any interruption, including a low battery indication.

Battery and Charging Management

Before each use: read the capacity with three masks connected, inspect the pack for swelling, cracks or wet ingress, and check the contacts and fuse.

After each use: remove the pack, clean and dry the housing, and charge in a safe area so the next shift starts full.

Charging discipline: charge only in a non-hazardous, ventilated area with the supplied charger; never in the zone, never a damaged pack, never unattended overnight in a work area.

Pack life: rotate packs, record their age, and retire any pack whose runtime no longer covers a three-person shift; on this set a tired pack is a single point of failure for three people.

Annually: replace all mask gaskets and exhalation valves, check hose couplings, and review battery stock against the actual work pattern.

Standards and Compliance

This is a supplied-air respirator: it does not generate oxygen and must not be used in an oxygen-deficient or immediately dangerous to life or health atmosphere unless the intake air is guaranteed clean and the assessment says so in writing, and it must never replace self-contained apparatus where an escape supply is required. Each mask must be fit tested to its own wearer and must not be shared without cleaning and disinfecting. The explosion-proof rating covers the blower housing in its intended zone; it does not cover charging, so packs must be charged outside the hazardous area. Loss of battery power is a loss of protection for all three wearers and must be written into the site's procedure as an evacuation trigger. Local rules on confined-space entry, permit-to-work, maximum entrants and standby arrangements apply on top of the equipment.

Applications

Three-person teams coating or inspecting large tanks and vessels from one access point, work inside bunds and on tank roofs with no safe outlet, jetty and dock operations, and classified-area solvent work where a mains lead would itself be a hazard.

Ordering

State the model RY-SAR-07, the length of each hose, the number of battery packs required for the shift pattern, the charger supply voltage, and the mask size for each wearer. Confirm the outlet and manifold arrangement for the third hose on the drawing, and confirm whether a spare pack, an additional charger or spare masks are to be included. Ask for the runtime figure with three masks running on your hose lengths, so the shift plan can be built around it — and confirm the site's rescue plan covers three wearers before choosing this set over two smaller units.
