A combination shower and eyewash with electric heat tracing, laid out so that the two electrical items sit where they are actually useful: the trace is terminated in a black box at the shower arm, at the highest point of the column, and the rotary isolator is mounted at hand height partway down.
Everything else is the standard station: green square column, stainless shower head on a forward arm, stainless eyewash basin with twin nozzles, triangular pull rod, single braided hose to the eyewash branch, bolted base plate.
Termination at the top – the trace is terminated at the highest point, so any condensation in the cable runs down away from the terminals instead of sitting in them.
Short cable run – the box sits close to the point where the trace enters the column, keeping the exposed length short and the cleating simple.
Isolator at hand height – no ladder to isolate the trace; the person doing the work can prove dead at the station itself.
Separated duties – one box terminates, the other switches; a fault at either is found without opening the other.
Trade-off stated – two boxes on a column are two covers, two sets of glands and two places to check for water; a single-box arrangement is simpler but gives less flexibility when the trace needs re-terminating.
Traced riser – heating cable along the column keeps the standing water above freezing; the riser stays full, so flow is at rate the moment the valve opens.
No drain needed – unlike a frost-valve station, this does not depend on a sump under the base plate.
Power dependency – no supply means no protection; the circuit must be labelled and proven before frost.
Setting location – the thermostat control point is confirmed on order; the station itself gives isolation, not adjustment.
Green square column – painted steel, bolted base plate with earth point.
Stainless shower head – forward arm, wide pattern.
Stainless eyewash basin – twin nozzles, PUSH sign on the bracket.
Triangular pull rod – stainless, stay-open shower valve.
Terminal box and rotary isolator – at the arm and at hand height respectively.

| Design standard | Designed to meet ANSI Z358.1-2014 requirements |
Bolt the base plate to a pad and check the column is plumb.
Connect the supply with an upstream isolation valve and flush the line.
Terminate the trace in the arm box with the gland facing down, so water cannot run into the terminals.
Confirm the isolator is off, then bring the supply cable in through its own gland.
Set the thermostat at the agreed control point and check the column warms with the supply closed.
Set shower and eyewash flows to the table figures and label the circuit at the board.
Weekly: operate both functions, check flows, wipe basin and nozzles, check the isolator position.
Monthly: open both boxes and check for water, loose terminals or discolouration; check the hose for chafing at the column.
Before frost: prove the trace with the supply closed and confirm the control-point setpoint against the record.
Annually: insulation resistance test, terminal torque check and renewal of any hardened gland.
Designed to meet ANSI Z358.1-2014 for shower and eyewash flow, hands-free operation and simultaneous use. Freeze protection does not replace tepid water: the standard still expects a supply that is not at freezing temperature. Electrical work must comply with local requirements and be carried out by a competent person; where the station stands in a classified area, confirm the enclosure type on the order rather than assuming it from the photograph.
Outdoor process areas, tank farms, loading bays, unheated buildings, and yards where the station must be isolated locally but the trace setting is handled from a plant-room control point.
Order by model RYFHS-FR10. Please state supply voltage and phase, trace length and lowest ambient temperature, inlet size, control-point arrangement and whether a tepid water mixing valve is required. The external-trace version, the hazardous-area versions and the frost-valve station are also available.
