Short answer: Our new vertical foot-pedal eyewash station pairs a coated carbon steel frame with an ABS bowl and twin spray heads. Activation is by foot pedal, so the flush starts and stays on without hands - which is the practical requirement in any area where a worker may already be blinded or holding a colleague.
ANSI/ISEA Z358.1-2014 requires the valve to open in one second or less and stay open without being held. A hand-push plate meets the letter of that requirement, but in a real incident the injured person's hands are often occupied - supporting themselves, holding a contaminated garment away from the face, or guiding a colleague.
A pedal removes that dependency. It also makes the weekly activation test a one-person, ten-second task, which matters more than it sounds: units that are awkward to test are the units whose logs lapse.
Bowl: ABS, resistant to most common laboratory and process chemicals, and unaffected by the corrosion that shortens the life of painted steel bowls
Frame: carbon steel with a protective coating for indoor plant environments
Spray heads: twin outlet with removable strainers, so blockage can be cleared without replacing the head
Valve: stay-open design, single-motion, foot-operated
Supply: standard plant water connection, sized for eyewash-only duty
This model is aimed at indoor chemical and process areas where a full combination shower is not required but a plumbed, hands-free eyewash is. Typical locations: transfer points, sampling stations, drum decanting areas, and the perimeter of laboratory suites.
For areas with full-body exposure, the same activation logic is available on our combination shower and eyewash stations. For tight spaces near a supply, a wall-mounted unit remains the lower-cost answer.
The unit is available from stock in the standard configuration. Colour, bowl material and connection size can be adapted for volume orders, and our standard customisation window is around 15 days from approved drawing.
