RY-SAR-03 Explosion-Proof Electric Long Tube Respirator for Three Persons with Triple Hose Outlets

Product Overview

The RY-SAR-03 is a three-person electric long-tube respirator: one stainless steel blower housing with an explosion-proof motor delivers ambient air through three outlets to three long corrugated hoses, each ending in a full-face mask with a yellow frame and its own waist strap. The explosion-proof certificate, test report and manual come with the set. It is built for the case the two-person set does not cover — a small team that has to be inside the same classified or contaminated area at the same time, such as a three-man vessel entry, a coating team, or an inspection crew working a large tank from one access point.

Why Three Is Not Just "One More Than Two"

Adding a third wearer to the same blower changes more than the arithmetic of airflow, and the changes are the reason a three-person set should be chosen deliberately rather than bought because it exists.

The flow divides again. Three masks draw from one blower. Whatever the unit delivers, each wearer gets roughly a third of it, and if the three hoses are not of comparable length the shortest one takes the largest share while the longest one starves quietly. With three wearers there is also a real chance that masks are put on at different moments, so the blower sees one, two and then three masks in quick succession: the flow at the first mask falls when the second and third are connected. Check the flow at the farthest mask with all three running, and record it.

The failure now strands three people. A single blower, a single power feed and a single intake mean one interruption removes protection from the whole team at once. Bringing three wearers out of a vessel is a different rescue problem from bringing out one: it takes more attendants, more space in the access way, and more time than most permits assume. If the site's assessment cannot guarantee a three-person rescue, three masks on one blower is the wrong configuration and two separate units are the safer answer.

Three long hoses in a confined space is a tangle. The hoses themselves begin to fill the access and the working volume, they cross at the entry, and one wearer moving away pulls on another's mask. Each wearer needs a marked route and a stated working position, and the entry needs someone whose job is to manage the hose bundle rather than to work.

Three faces, three masks. Masks are personal items: each must be fit tested, cleaned and disinfected, and stored to its own wearer. Three masks in one kit will not all be the same size.

And the two constants: the blower moves ambient air rather than making it, so the intake has to stand in clean air upwind and outside the zone; and there is no escape cylinder for any of the three, so any interruption means leaving immediately rather than testing whether the supply recovers.

Key Features

  • Single explosion-proof blower with three hose outlets, feeding three masks from one power feed and one start-up check.

  • Stainless steel blower housing with carry handle, resistant to wash-down and to most process atmospheres.

  • Three long corrugated breathing hoses with quick-fit couplings, coiled for transport.

  • Three full-face masks with yellow frames, wide visors and exhalation valves.

  • Three waist straps, one per wearer, keeping hose weight off the facepieces.

  • Explosion-proof certificate, test report and manual supplied with the set.

  • Mains-powered with plug and cable; no cylinders and no charging between shifts.

  • Sized for a small team entering together rather than one entrant with an attendant.

  • Packs as a single kit with all three hoses deployed from one point, so the entry can be controlled from the blower position.

Deployment and Use

  1. Site the blower in clean air, upwind and outside the zone, with the intake clear of exhausts, vents and dust, and confirm the gas group and temperature class against the zone.

  2. Lay out the three hoses on separate marked routes with no shared crossing at the entry, and appoint one person to manage the bundle.

  3. Fit each mask to its own wearer, carry out a fit check on each, and confirm all three breathe comfortably before anyone enters.

  4. Connect the masks one at a time with the blower running, and check the flow at the farthest mask with all three connected — not with two of them disconnected.

  5. Brief a three-person evacuation route and confirm the standby resource at the blower can actually bring three wearers out, then record the entry on the permit.

  6. Agree the signal for "blower stopped", and make it a rule that all three leave on that signal without waiting for confirmation.

Maintenance

Before each use: inspect all three hoses for cracks, flattening and damaged couplings; check every mask, gasket and exhalation valve; run the blower and confirm airflow at each mask.

After each use: clean and disinfect each mask separately, wipe and coil the hoses without sharp bends, and check the cable and plug.

Monthly: inspect the intake and fan for dust, check earth continuity and the cable gland, and confirm all three outlets and couplings are sound.

Annually: have the explosion-proof enclosure and motor inspected by a competent person, replace all mask gaskets and exhalation valves, and re-check the certificate against the zone if the process has changed.

Standards and Compliance

This is a supplied-air respirator: it does not generate oxygen and must not be used in an oxygen-deficient or immediately dangerous to life or health atmosphere unless the intake air is guaranteed clean and the assessment says so in writing, and it must never replace self-contained apparatus where an escape supply is required. Each mask must be fit tested to its own wearer and must not be shared without cleaning and disinfecting. The blower, hoses and masks are assessed as one system: triple outlets must be shown to deliver adequate flow to all three masks simultaneously, not in turn. Local rules on confined-space entry, permit-to-work, maximum number of entrants and standby arrangements apply on top of the equipment, and the certificate supplied with the set must be kept with the unit and produced at inspection.

Applications

Three-man vessel and tank entry from a single access point, coating and lining teams, inspection crews working large vessels, solvent handling in classified areas, and sites where a small team must stay protected together rather than entering one at a time.

Ordering

State the model RY-SAR-03, the length of each hose, the supply voltage and phase, the zone classification and required gas group and temperature class, and the mask size for each wearer. Confirm whether spare hoses, additional masks or a hose reel are to be included, and state the language required for the manual. Ask for copies of the explosion-proof certificate and test report in advance if they are needed for a permit submission, and confirm that the site's rescue plan covers three wearers before choosing this configuration over two separate units.
