Product Overview

A 53 litre tank with a battery on board and a handheld spray gun on a coiled hose. The eye wash itself works the familiar way — pull the black tray down and the twin nozzles under it start — while the gun gives a second, directed stream for the face, neck and hands, at pressure that comes from a pump rather than from the height of the water.

The label on the front states fifteen minutes of continuous use. That figure is the reason this version exists: a gravity tank of the same size empties in about five minutes at eyewash flow, while a pumped unit keeps a steady stream for the duration the standard asks for.

Why Battery Power

  • Fifteen minutes, stated on the unit – a pumped supply holds flow as the tank empties, instead of tailing off with the head of water.

  • No plumbing, no mains – no water line, no drain, no electrical installation; the unit stands where the hazard is.

  • Directed flushing with the gun – chemical splash on the face, neck or gloves can be washed where it landed, not only at the eye tray.

  • Steady pressure – the pump holds the stream, so the user is not chasing a weakening flow as the tank drains.

  • Trade-off stated – a pumped unit depends on a charged battery and on routine testing; a flat battery turns a good station into a tank of water.

Two Ways to Flush

  • Eye tray – black tray folds down to start the twin nozzles; the yellow label shows the pull and the face position.

  • Handheld gun – trigger gun on a coiled hose, mounted at the side of the tank, for face, neck, arms and gloves.

  • Green nozzle covers – the eye heads are capped to keep dust out between tests.

Construction

  • 53 L green HDPE tank – moulded body, fill cap on top, carry handle.

  • Battery and pump – on-board, driving the eye nozzles and the gun.

  • Handheld spray gun – trigger gun on a coiled hose at the tank side.

  • Pull-down eye tray – black tray with pull label, twin nozzles beneath.

  • Front labels – operating steps, capacity and the fifteen-minute run time.

Setting Up and Weekly Care

  1. Fill the tank with clean tepid water and close the cap firmly.

  2. Charge the battery as instructed and record the charge date on the unit.

  3. Set the station on a stable surface at a height where a standing person can lean into the tray.

  4. Pull the tray down, check both eye nozzles, then test the gun — both must run without spluttering.

  5. Weekly: replace the water, run the eye wash and the gun for a short period, and confirm the battery indicator.

  6. After use: refill, recharge, wipe the tray and nozzles, and log the event.

Maintenance

  • Weekly: water change, function test on both the tray and the gun, battery check.

  • Monthly: inspect the hose for kinks and the gun trigger for stiffness; clean the nozzle caps.

  • Quarterly: sanitise and rinse the tank; check the pump intake strainer.

  • Annually: replace the battery if the measured run time has fallen, and re-test the full fifteen minutes.

Standards and Compliance

ANSI Z358.1 calls for a fifteen-minute flush at eyewash flow; the fifteen-minute run time stated on this unit is what makes it usable as more than a stop-gap, but only while the battery holds charge and the tank is full. The station must sit within about ten seconds of the hazard, on the same level, with tepid water, weekly activation and a clear approach — and where the body as well as the eyes may be exposed, the gun supplements a drench shower rather than replacing one.

Applications

Maintenance and turnaround work, construction and temporary sites, workshops without water, battery and paint areas, spill response, laboratories and remote compounds where a sustained fifteen-minute flush is wanted without plumbing.
